IT’S EASY TO SUPPORT A CAUSE WHEN YOU BELIEVE IN IT

Sonya and other sight impaired Kiwis is the reason why I proudly support Blind Low Vision New Zealand not only financially but also with my time. 

Almost five years ago, Sonya had a really bad fall due to her low vision and that’s when she realised that she was becoming dangerous.  Although Sonya had previously used a cane, an old injury from a previous fall made using a cane really painful.  Sonya needed a guide dog and was matched with beautiful Vesna.  Vesna accompanies Sonya wherever she wants to go including her daughter’s national gymnastic events. 

Sadly Sonya’s daughter has inherited the same eye condition and will likely lose her eyesight too.  Thanks to Blind Low Vision, both Sonya and her daughter will have the support and care that they need.
